“The treasury secretary touts a White House plan for the most sweeping change in the financial regulatory system since the Great Depression.” Here’s a summary that appeared today on MSNBC.com: (click it to enlarge) (BTW I like David Walker, but they don’t.) Explanation: Like they did in the Great Depression, the Money Powers have engineered the [...]

Check this out from Silver Guru (and hero) Jason Hommel. (He’s a straight-shooter and tells it like it is, no matter what.) http://www.silverstockreport.com/2008/perth.html Jason build a case against Perth mint (Australia) & Kitco (USA) and their “allocated silver storage” programs. This is where you “buy” silver from them and they agree to “store” it for [...]

Warning: this post laced with sarcasm. Sarcasm shown in italics for clarity. So the stock market bounced up yesterday (two days in a row, woo-hoo!) cuz of two things: An 80+ year old respected financial institution is gonna be sold for a 95% discount (off its recent high) instead of a 99% discount. Ooohhh, I bet those Bear/Stearns [...]

I’ve just learned that Apmex has offered up an explanation for the problems they continue to have in selling gold and silver. Be sure to read section 3: “The shortage of metals on the market is like nothing I have seen before. …both mints being out of silver and large dealers literally across the world [...]

Is this it? Is this how the moonshot starts? The recent plunge in silver and gold prices has triggered a massive tsunami of public buying. Silver and gold are hard to get right now! Apmex just sent me a notice saying they have shut down their web site and are accepting phone orders ONLY with [...]

Attorney General sues NW Territorial Mint. Click the link for the full story. Seems the AG for Washington state has received 82 complaints against NW Territorial Mint. Apparently, the volatility in the silver markets has made their normally slow delivery even slower.

Gold tanks!Yippeee! Feb 28 a new gold-related fund was launched called Double Gold Long(DGP). Almost no one knows about this yet. It’s kinda like the GLD ETF that tracks the price of gold, except it tracks the price of gold x 2. In other words, if gold goes down 1% DGP goes down 2%. And, [...]

“We are watching the biggest panic in global financial markets that has occurred in my 65 years of life and 50 years of stock, bond and commodities investing.” These sobering words come from one of our heroes, Monty Guild, in a bulletin he just released. Look at what’s happening: The Fed has taken the extraordinary [...]

Warren warned us five years ago. The idiots and their OTC derivatives will kill us all. They just killed Bear Stearns. (The Fed/Chase had to suddenly bail out the 85 year-old investment bank and, more importantly, primary dealer in US Gov’t bonds.) JPMorgan Chase helps the Fed delay (not avoid, mind you) the financial meltdown [...]

Gold climbed past the magic $1,000/oz mark for the first time today. The US Dollar Index (USDX) hit an all-time low of 71.60 this morning as well. I’ve shown how gold has been inversely tracking the USDX for the last few years. [See the Feb 28 post.] According to one of our heroes, Jim Sinclair, [...]
