North American Union/Amero Is Dead

Foreign Affairs, the official mouthpiece of the CFR (Council on Foreign Relations) has just published an article by Robert Pastor, father of the North American Union concept. In it, they admit defeat. (The NAU is also called the “Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America.”)

The NAU would have knocked down trade and immigration barriers between the US, Canada and Mexico while destroying the sovereignty of all three countries.

It would have also made land-locked Kansas City, MO the US’s newest sea-port, allowing goods from the far east to enter directly into the US from Mexico along a proposed NAFTA Super Highway.

Looks like the CFR is giving up on the idea, blaming one of our heroes, Lou Dobbs.

CNN’s Lou Dobbs’ reports on the disastrous effects of illegal immigration and trade seem to have had a more profound effect on the national debate than many people have thought. Indeed, the candidates seem to have accepted Dobbs’ variation on Hobson’s choice — either reject NAFTA or suffer decline as a candidate and as a nation.

This could also spell the end to the Amero, a rumoured unified currency common to all three countries. It was suggested that it would replace the US dollar once it falls to oblivion.

This is all great news, but keep an eye on the CFR–most likely they’ll recycle their plan in a more stealthy way.
